Serenity's Shepard Book to get his own online comic

Whedon is going to get a chance to tell the back story of Shepard Book, the kindly old preacher aboard Serenity, in an online comic next year. The book called The Shepard's Tale will be a 3 volume comic going into the back story of Book, including how he once killed a man. This will definitely be great to check out...

Garfield Minus Garfield

This is a pretty interesting take on a very familiar comic. Basically the creator of the comic is taking Jim Davis' original strips and removing Garfield and Odie from them, which gives the comic a very different take on the life of John Arbuckle. Some of them are pretty funny and make his life look even more pathetic than the comic normally does.

Serenity: Better Days

Serenity is returning to comics once again, this time with the three issue story Better Days. Joss Whedon and Brett Mathews team up for the story and it seems to fit in perfectly with the series. The characters all seem right on target and there it captures that great mix of action and humor from the show. It is set before the movie so all your favorite characters are back. The story begins with the crew stealing art, or are they after something else?? We get a pretty cool chase scene and of course at the end something unexpected happens. Definitely has me wanting the next issue.

The Dark Tower: The Long Road Home

Roland and his ka-tet are on the run, Susan is dead and The Dark Tower comic continues. The second Dark Tower limited series has hit comic stores and it continues right where the last series ended. While the first story resolved around events in Wizard and Glass, this story is generally new material. This time we see Roland, Alain and Bert as they begin their journey back to Gilead with Maerlyn's Grapefruit. But with Clay Reynolds, the last of the Big Coffin Hunters, after them they won't have an easy road. And Sheemie returns only to wander into somewhere he shouldn't.

Hero by Night Returns

Winner of the 2006 Comic Book Challenge, Hero by Night returns with its first issue in its ongoing series. Jack has returned to his normal life of being a landlord and his life with Roz after his heroics in the four part comic earlier this summer.

Angel has returned

Following in Buffy's footsteps, Angel is back, this time in comic book form. Angel: After the Fall picks up after the amazing ending of season 5. Instead of starting out right after the end of the show time has passed and L.A. has gone to hell. Infested with demons, dragons and vampires, our Hero is dealing with the aftermath of his decision to take on Wolfram & Heart. While we don't yet get to see what befell Illyria and Spike, there are some big surprises for some of our other characters as well as a few other familiar faces.
