30 years ago Lego released its first modern Minifig, the previous ones were the same size but without moving legs or arms. Starting in 1978 with a cop, Lego has produced over 4 billion minifigs starting out with figures from town, castle and space sets to the modern licensed figures.

While every one had the same expression for the first eleven years, they now come in a wide array of expressions and faces.

Hasbro and Mattel have their SDCC 2008 exclusives up for sale on their sites, but hurry as things are selling out quickly. The Blue and Black suited Cobra Commanders went in less than a couple of hours and Fin Fang Foom is now sold out.

Sideshow has revealed a great lineup for San Diego Comic Con this year. Starting things off is the 12" Darth Vader and 12" Stormtrooper, which will be available for pre-order on Friday, August 1st at 10:00AM and 12:00 Noon. Next up is the 12" Rebel Fleet Trooper from the Tantive IV. Next up is an amazing the lifesize bust of General Grevious. And finally they announced a Tusken Raider Premium Format figure.

Kid Robot has announced a new line of Simpsons 3 inch vinyl figures that will retail for $7.95 each. There will be 24 in all, including 3 chase figures. They are scheduled to hit store August 21st.

Toynami has an awesome exclusive lined up for this year's San Diego Comic Con from the Futurama line. It features Robot Santa and Bender dressed Robot Santa and both figures look great. It will be limited to just 2000 pieces and will be $50, which seems pretty steep, but is still a really cool set.

Sideshow has up a pretty cool video with the creators of their 12" G.I. Joe line. It does a nice job showing off what fans they are of G.I. Joe and all the work they are putting into doing justice to all the characters. Definitely worth checking out, plus a sneak peek at some design work for Cobra Commander and a look at a Cobra Soldier.
