Packaging *** 1/2
Toynami continues with the great packaging from the earlier waves. I really think this is some of the best packaging out there in this scale. It has a very unique look, shows off the figures nicely, some very cool graphics and is very collector friendly. One of the best parts of the packaging is that there are no twist ties and the figures can easily be reboxed.
Articulation Kif **, Bender, Robot Devil ****
Kif just does slightly better that Zap did in the last wave. He has neck, shoulder, wrist and waist articulation. So you are pretty limited in any kind of pose you can put him in, at least the arms do help balance him when the big cowboy hat is on.
Bender has neck, shoulder, hip articulation as well as bendable arms and bendable legs, plus his door panel opens. The Robot Devil has jaw, neck, shoulders, waist, hips and wrists as well as a bendable tail, arms and legs. With the bendable legs and arms, you should pretty much be able to put them in any pose you want.
Accessories Kif, Bender *** 1/2
Once again they did a nice job with unique and very good selection of accessories. First Kif has the legs for the Robot Devil and Bender has his top hat and cane. Kif also has a cowboy hat, a picture of Amy and a Speron. Bender has a stack of money, Old Fortran and Mom's Robot oil, which are good accessories, but he also comes with three different versions of his eyes, which is very cool. They have done a very nice job with accessories in this line and coming up with unique and cool accessories for all the characters.
Sculpt Kif, Bender *** 1/2
Bender is the same sculpt as the MAC version and once again is a great version of Bender. One very cool improvement though, is that Bender's head can be removed and Nixon's head in a jar can be placed on Bender's body.
They also did a great job with Kif's sculpt. Kif has a very unique head and they did a nice job sculpting it and really getting the look right from all angles. They also did a nice job in keeping him in correct proportions to Zap, with him only coming a little above his shoulders.
The Robot Devil has a very nice sculpt and his body is almost perfect. The lip over his eyes is a little too long and his nose is a little too big, but other wise he is great looking. Also he is a little hard to stand, but if you use the tail to hold him up, he does pretty well.
Paint Kif, Bender, Robot Devil ***
While Kif's uniform color is a little off, it isn't nearly as noticeable as Leela's hair was in the last wave. Otherwise his paint job is pretty nice, though there is a little bit of slop on him.
Bender's paint job is pretty good also, but there is again a little slop around the eyes and mouth.
The Robot Devil doesn't have as much slop on him and most of the lines are nice and clean, but his horns are red instead of yellow, which is disappointing.
Overall Kif, Bender, Robot Devil *** 1/2
This is another great addition to Toynami's Futurama line. Not only do we get Bender and Kif, but we can also finally complete The Robot Devil. Kif looks really great next to Zap Brannigan and hopefully we will get Amy soon too. They added some nice touches with Bender like interchangeable eyes and the ability to put Nixon's head on him. Plus we got the amazing looking Robot Devil. While there are a couple minor paint issues and Kiff is limited in articulation, otherwise they did a great job on this series with the cool Robot Devil build-a-figure, great accessories and sculpts and little extras on Bender. Definitely worth picking these figures up.
